Saturday at PAX
Just got back from spending a few hours at the Penny Arcade Expo. The highlights:
1. Major Nelson served on the Pitch Your Game Idea panel. After the panel I saw an aspiring game designer slipping Maj an alpha of his game. Hello? Is Maj a publisher?
2. A guy dressed as Mario.
3. Ran into Stormy, from Penny Arcade, who was the winner of an Xbox 360 at our Community party at E3 back in May. He wanted to make sure that his 360 will be the big boy tricked-out version and not the Core. I assured him that we’d take care of him. A winner’s a winner, after all.
4. The Frag Dolls! Five of the Dolls were in attendance showing off Far Cry: Eekers recently hung up her black and pink tshirt to take a game testing job and Rhoulette is spending the weekend in Arkansas. It was great to see the Dolls, and it was my first time meeting Seppuku and Katscratch. When I gave Valkyrie a hug I accidentally kinda felt her up. I was scared for a sec–she IS from Texas–but she didn’t kick my ass. Maybe she even liked it a little 😉
The Big News is that tomorrow at 2pm at PAX there are open auditions to be the next Frag Doll! Ladies, get your tushies down there, bring a resume, and show ’em what you’ve got. The number one thing is you’ve gotta be a legit gamer. You also need to be personable (ie able to talk to peeps). Bein’ hot ain’t gonna hurt your chances either.
Check out the pictures in the PAX photo album.
