I laughed, I cried, I was glad I never was a Nanny!
The lives and escapades of these Nannies will make you laugh and cringe. Clearly the author has lived in NY and known or been a Nanny.
An emotionally honest story of a 19 year old’s experiences leaving a broken home, looking for adventure, acceptance and love in NY. Brilliantly written with excellent characterizations, it will tug at your heart strings as the main character explains her thoughts and feelings behind her decision making process as she makes some good, but a lot of bad choices with her young life. You can’t help but root for her to succeed. Should be required reading for all High School Seniors!

I thouroughly enjoyed this book. It grabbed me hard, pulled me in deep, and didn’t let go until I was finished! Can’t wait to see what else this author has written.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun, entertaining read,August 10, 2011

A friend loaned me The Sleepless Nanny to read. It’s a fast paced book set in the privleged households of New York. The main charachter is a 19 yr old girl from Seattle who, through a series of poor choices, quits college and goes to New York to be a Nanny. We see her grow from a lost, naive girl struggling with her young charges, to a confident, capable young woman. There is enough realism to make you worry about hiring a nanny, or letting your daughter be a nanny! The ending has a surprising twist which I won’t give away. This book kept me engaged and entertained – I read it straight through in one sitting (stayed up past my bed time!)

The book is well writting and well edited. There are no major formatting issues with the Kindle edition.

I love books that allow me to vividly imagine what is going on. It makes it easier to get immersed in the story. I also get excited when a story keeps making me want to pick it up in order to finish it so I can find out what happens next. That is exactly what this book did. I was definitely surprised how the story evolved and ended. I HAD TO FINISH IT. Holy cow, there were some great twists in the story and I really enjoyed that all the “loose ends” were tied up. I now have another favorite author to add my list. Can’t wait for another book from this author.
