words about words

Amazon.com is taking pre-orders for the Penguin Classics Library Complete Collection. It’s coming out on June 15, includes 1,082 volumes and costs about eight thousand bucks–on sale. It’s soooo tempting to click on the "Pre-order with 1-click" button, isn’t it?

Let me know if anyone actually places this big daddy order. I wouldn’t know whether to pity you or marry you.

I’ve got about $50,000 in absurdly expensive books on my amazon wishlist that I’ll never get. With just one click I added 1082 volumes – how cool is that! Thanks Trixie πŸ™‚ Now if I can only get some financing…

If you stick together, convince some friends, you can buy this bundle for (let’s say) group of 10-20 people. There is no way that there will be no "new" book available for reading for any of you. πŸ˜‰

$8K in books would impress you? What would a guy use for a ring for the wedding? I thought you were better than that Miss TriXie.If you want the books, you can get free electronic versions. The University of Virginia Library has all of the classics in your Microsoft Reader format. Check out http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/.
