You know why Italy is the best place on earth? Think of what Italy has given the world. Michelangelo and Da Vinci, Puccini, Verdi and Vivaldi. The food, the wine. Espresso and Capuccino! Yeah okay Italy’s not so much for rock n’ roll or video games but…
Breakfast this morning. The best bacon I’ve ever had. Fresh fruit perfectly ripe and sweet. Two cappucinos–I’m ashamed of the four packets of zucchero I put in each cup, so I wad up the empty packages and take them away in my purse. I am repping the USA today in my cowboy boots. I am also wearing a pendant of my celtic birth sign Heulsaf y Gaeaf and a black dress so I may resemble a strega, though I am not one. Hush now…if I could cast spells I would be in Maui writing book reviews and mystery novels while George Clooney massaged my feet. Interesting fact: Milan was founded by the Celts. ‘Milan’ derives from from the celtic "medelhan" which basically means ‘in the middle of the plain" So sayeth Wikipedia.
PS. Milan is the resting place of Da Vinci’s The Last Supper. If I had the time (you have to make an appointment) I would hie myself hence to the convent of Santa Maria della Grazie to see for myself if St. John is sporting boobies.
PPS. My upstairs neighbors began arguing in Italian at 6am. They must have made up though because after that they took a bath. The walls are thin.

Ah, I spent a month in Sicily back in ’97, TriX. Eating fresh seafood caught daily from the Mediterrainian, you’re bringing back some fond memories!
Sounds lovely. I was in Tuscany a month ago and I miss those breakfasts. Pecorino Toscano, focaccia, fresh fruit, & fabulous espresso.
I like stugats for "idiot"… (stoo-gahts) but I think that might be more New York City Italian than proper Italian.
Oh, and we can talk about yer office when you get back. *whistles*
