Gamertag Radio just posted their 2nd Annual Xbox Live Community Awards show and… GamerchiX WON! We were up against some very very well-established and cool groups but we somehow managed to pull the most votes. I have a huge amount of respect for all the other teams and communities that were nominated so this is a tremendous honor for us–especially since we’re only six months old.
So go download the show and listen to us win! Major Nelson himself presented the award.

Is it snowing up there? Everytime I turn on the news, Seattle is getting slammed with Mother Nature’s hiney.
Great show, Gamerchix won, which is cool cuz you’ve done something major with that. It’s cool to see you showing love to the indie podcasts like that (GTR and Squad XP), even if the one is basically talking trash and being negative/jealous of the other. You know what, I’m just gonna be honest as hell, cuz I have a respect for you Trixie and you deserve only the truth.
Squad XP, is gaming realated, and can be fun/entertaining as all hell. Part of me has to figure you’re not a regular listener because of how they speak of women and their negativity/jealous/sense of entitlement in the xbox community. Contributing to the community isn’t about being recognized, or lord knows someone like me would’ve adandoned the online community long ago, it’s about doing what you do and being happy with that. I just don’t get how one day you can be on the Squad XP podcast (which is good in its own right), then later promote GTR when Squad XP has straight up said F*** Godfree.
I’d love to see your response to this Trixie, and more importantly I’d love to see you help bring resolution to this issue, cuz this isn’t what the community is about. I’ll be honest, XP struck the first blow, GTR was maybe a little sensitive about it, but they tried to squash it. Then the XP said they got bad emails from GTR fans, which they did not at all deserve, but then took it upon themselves to trash GamertagRadio and their staff because of a fan reaction. I’d be the first person to to object if Peter Moore said that Kaz Harai and PS were stupid, that would be a personal and inappropriate attack (even is the playstation is crap)
THis is too long, but I feel like if anyone can mend the broken fences it’s you. Both podcasts contribute to the whole community vibe that MS is pushing, and it’s awesome. Regaurdeless of how I feel about either show, it would be nice to see this issue resolved.

First, let me begin by congratulating both Trixie and the GamerchiX as indeed they have contributed much….not just to female gaming but to the entire Xbox community. Many women online have endured much to make XBL a more welcome place for those female gamers just now picking up a controller and experiencing the online community. The PMS Clan, the Frag Dolls, and the GamerchiX represent the vanguard of a new generation of gamer which knows no gender or race or religion only the spirit of competition and the embodiment of a true online "community"….as it should be. I can count one of my closest personal friends as a member of the PMS Clan and can speak for both of us when I say that the recognition and advancement of any female gamer brings the process of full integration that much closer to fruition.
Secondly, let me apologize for any comments left on your page which are unrelated to the topic. There is an obvious time and place for everything and I sincerely regret if others have chosen to use this forum inappropriately to air out dirty laundry and take away from your moment. Again, congrats on a well deserved win and continue all your hard work because believe me it’s paying off! 😉

On the battling Podcasts deal I have some advice as I had a very similar situation with my son and a kid @ his school: I told him to play nice or I would take away his toys. That worked really well, and now he is friends with the other kid. But he is 3 though.

OK,I drank too much happy juice last night, so my bad on all the actual contents of that comment. However I do think it’s a good time to mention the subject, since there’s two blogs right after each other about 2 community podcasts that have some beef. Don’t take anything I said as group A is wrong and group B is right, but I don’t think that vibe is good for the community and I think someone like Trixie would be a good person to resolve this thing, especially because of her relationships with both groups.
Just to clarify, yeah Bounty, I kinda hated on you all, and that wasn’t right to do. If anything I should’ve just mentioned the situation and suggest Trixie look into it to smooth things out. Either way, I got Christmas shopping to do tomorrow, so I’m out.

As for the War Between the Podcasts: it makes me sad, but they are all grownups, and members of the Xbox Live community and I can’t take sides. There is room in the community for both podcasts; they have very different styles and, I suspect, different audiences. I would really love to pull a Jimmy Carter and make peace between the two, but I will not force the issue. For now I think that it’s best for them to agree to disagree and to ignore eachother. And what we as fellow community members can do is step back and not fuel the fire.
Or maybe we’ll have a Christmas miracle and all the boys will make friends in Miami 😉
