When Notifications Bug the Crap out of You

Okay, I love knowing who is online and everything, but getting the little ‘so-and-so is online’ notifications can be annoying. For instance, when it covers the bottom row of Zuma balls and messes with my ju-ju, or for another example they obscure subtitles when I’m watching a movie. (I like foreign films, so sue me).

Here’s how to make ’em go away:
  1. Press the Guide button.
  2. Go to Personal Settings.
  3. Select Notifications.
Then you can turn them off, along with the sound.

Go forth and spread the word…

  1. Ahhh, thanks for the FYI.  It sucks when you are in the zone on a game and screw-up when the friend notification pops-up.  Zuma balls…..I have you now!

  2. GRAW soldiers need to know when there squadmates log on, no way I’m turning it off!!!! 😉

  3. Yeah that used to bug me when I played Zuma all the time. Hear that?  Played, as in past tense.  I had one friend who would send me private chat invites just to throw my game off.

  4. Thank you. It’s nice to know that feature. I will shut my notifications off very soon.

  5. Some guy on my list just kept signing on and off all the time once. So, i paused my game, went to my friends list, and took him off.

Also, when i get annoyed with a game sometime, it just seems everyone signs on at the same time and those notifications annoy the heck out of me. So i usually just turn them off and forget that i turned them off.
And if you do take notifications off, it does turn off the "achievement unlocked" notification too. Might want to be careful with that.

  6. You know, I always wondered about that.  It is the worst during
Zuma, I thought I was the only one with this problem!  lol
It was always a bad sign when my friends would decide to play a BC
game, they’re names would pop on and off the screen for at least 5
minutes it seemed like.  : )
